Inspired by Fashion Week in New York city, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Dallas, and Austin, the first-ever Fashion Week San Antonio was conceived October 5 -10, 2009.

Through the production of Fashion Group International, San Antonio's pre-imminent authority on the business of fashion, Fashion Week San Antonio was launched to showcase the Alamo city's brightest and talented designers and brand houses by displaying their latest collections in a runway show or fashion exhibition.

Contrary to exemplary Fashion Weeks across the world, Fashion Week San Antonio exists to cultivate and broaden a talented local design community worthy of recognition on a national platform in the global fashion industry. In doing so, San Antonio presents a unique opportunity to reach an affluent, trendsetting, and fashion-conscious market segment via a one-of-a-kind branding and marketing platform.

SA Fashion Week Soft Opening and Going Green Fashion Show

Event Details- SA Fashion Week will have a “soft” opening on Sunday October 9, 2011 during the Taste of San Antonio festival at the Pearl Brewery. This “soft” opening will feature the 4th annual “Going Green” fashion show that has become a San Antonio fashion community favorite. SA Fashion Week 2011 will debut the Emerging Designer Show alongside the 3rd annual Rising Star Fashion Industry Awards on Friday October 14, 2011 at the Historical Sunset Station. This will be an evening to honor San Antonio's fashion industry leaders and most innovative emerging designers in a one-of-a-kind celebration of artistic and creative talent in the industry of fashion. The Emerging Designer Show will offer a platform for aspiring designers living in San Antonio and surrounding areas to show case their talent on the runway at SA Fashion Week 2011 and gain the attention of the community and national press. Interested designers will have to submit an application and audition for the chance to be featured in this show; interested designers should visit the "Emerging Designer Submission Form" tab on the Fashion Week SA website.
